Quote - Yup. I never realise I'm thirsty until it's too late. If I don't actually discipline myself to drink my approximate daily quota of hydrating liquid, I'll simply not do it.
Even pouring out a drink and sitting it next to me doesn't always do it, per se...
...and yeah, regular fresh air and at least a bit of exercise is essential to health and productivity.
I've just not been getting enough of those the last few months... haven't had the time to do what sports I was doing previously... and I'm feeling noticeably crappier for it.
At least having a dog helps with this though, for me... my baseline is generally at least one reasonable stroll with him, a day... and more than that, the days I'm not at work and I take him his morning walk too.
Wow. I can't imagine not remembering to drink. I drink 2 to 3 gallons a day. Maybe 4. Constantly thirsty. If I go more than an hour without drinking my throat and mouth turn to sand paper. By that point I usually have a headache. Been that way all my life. All I drink is water and lightly sweetened iced tea. I rarely eat junk food - pretty much live on fresh spinach salads and ramen, virtually no red meat. Multi vitamins every day, vC and aspirin. My mom and my older brother are both type 2 diabetics. I have all the symptoms - foggy/cotton head, dizziness, night sweats - pretty much always feel like I have a hangover, but my tests are always negative.
I have a rednose pit who's just over a year old, hyper as f#!@ I take her out several times a day and play with her as long as my head isn't so cloudy. And I mow 3 full lawns every week - total of about 2 acres. That's the extent of my exercise. sometimes I can't walk straight without feeling like I'm going to fall over. It's not fun like that but what can you do. I just try to eat as healthy as possible and deal with it.
