Quote - While I was thinking about skins, I decided I just had to redo my close-up skin test with one of my all-time favorite skins... Charlie & Neve from Callad(yes, our very own Callad) and moonbunnie (if you don't have it yet, it is available here on Renderosity: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/charlie-neve-for-v4-2/75271)

The first shot just goes to show the superior quality of the skin texture I think, this is straight out of the box!(no material adjustments) amazing results! This also illustrates how good a job Reality does converting materials for LuxRender.

This second shot is the same scene, but with the Bree ACSEL shaders applied to the Charlie & Neve skin. This is a straight copy of the shader set, no tweaking of any settings. Not sure if I like it any better than the out-of-the-box version, but it is nice.

I played around with tweaking the Bree shader settings, but couldn't come up with anything I thought looked any better. My skills are still in their formative years :)

I'm thinking of doing this same scene with the Dublin textures (which I bought specifically because of my current obsession with skin textures )

All comments welcome.

Oh and BTW, a huge thank you to Callad (and moonbunnie) for the awesome set that is "Charlie & Neve" Love it!

PS- If anyone can tell me how to post multiple images that you can click the image to see the full size view (without editing the HTML), please PM me and illuminate me :) Thanks!

PPS- I have a question about the artifacts appearing on the chin and jawline in these images... I tried using subdivision both with and without micro-facets, and tried moving the camera slightly and the lights, but couldn't get rid of them. It is happening with other textures too. Any ideas on how to get rid of these ugly blemishes on my renders? Kind of disheartening seeing this on Genesis.

Michael

First a 'thank you' for all the nice compliments :) (and -no- I haven't paid Michael to say all that )

I like the second image too, it's a totally different 'look' this way! I must say I like the eyes of the original setting just a tad more (maybe a combination would work?)

I just LOVE all Danae-crafted skins, these days I use them a lot and think they are worth every penny.

The artifacts just may disapear when you give the Reality light a slightly different angle, that has worked for me sometimes. Hope this helps :)
