Third concept - if you put ink on a bumpy sphere and rolled it around on paper, then did the same after scaling the sphere down, the pattern features would look the same if you used global coordinates, and they would look smaller if you used model coordinates.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
