Load the hair in Studio, then switch to the Surface Tool. Select the underlying mesh in DS, then call Reality. The mesh should be highlighted. Then, where you set the type in Reality (Glossiness, Matte, etc), select the last one in the list: Null.
In Studio itself you can set the Opacity to zero so it doesn't show in DS renders.
