Thank you everyone. This has been very frustrating. But, I found the solution. There are several things I know about doing, but never try because I've never needed them before. One of the things I've never needed to do before was to move the joint itself.
The fix was really easy once I gave it a try. I opened the joint editor and selected side-side. The joint with a center point and three legs appeared. I grabbed the center point with my mouse and pulled down on it very, very little. The point is gone. The amount of movement was so small I had to try it a second time just to see if that had fixed the problem. That was it. So, if you ever see something like this and the sphere props aren't doing it for you, give moving the actual joint a try.
