i dunno of it is any help, but the face maker program uses a system of key points, dots, similar to Toms sketch above. Overlay your model from a front and profile view and mark the key points, ie left and right of each eye, bottom of chin, width of cheeks, ear height, top and bottom of each lip and the width of the mouth ,nose etc, the more points you match up, the better it will look, and of course as tends to happen, once you apply a texture to it, it will look completely different lol
