I understand this, but I am unable to calibrate my new monitor so it looks good to me. Reds in particular do not look right. Too dull, too bright, too orange...I've tried the various calibration images/web sites out there, and have not been able to get satisfactory results.
I never had this problem with CRT monitors, or my old laptop LCD. (The old LCDs never needed calibrating, and everything always looked right.) My new desktop monitor and laptop display are a different story.
