Still have not downloaded or installed this plugin myself, partly because I don't have time to figure it out this week, partly because I'm a little nervous at the reports some are having trying to uninstall it.

Do I have to buy something to try it out?  Or is there a figure to test it on in that Genesis starter essentials thing?

Comes with a base figure (or Poser companion)

For me, the installation was pretty easy ... I installed ONLY the plug-in to the Poser installation directory; then I creatd an external runtime (D:/Content/Genesis) and placed all my Genesis content, including the content files furnished with the DSON importer, into it.

I haven't been using DAZ Studio, so I haven't had to worry about double installations ... but I suppose if I did, I could just point the DAZ content manager to the Genesis runtime and have them both work.
