I have downloaded and intalled the poser dson, I already had v5 so I need to clarify what clothes can I use with Genesis I presume V5 is a morph? Can I use V4 morphs on Genesis? Are V4 clothes compatible, how do you fit hair? LOL!! loads of general questions that I can't seem to find the answer for.

Loaded Genesis this am dialled in V5 applied a texture from Surreality loaded fine tried to load Kouros hair obviously need to to be reset to fit - went to scripts to see if anything was available tried to use transfer active morphs (probably wrong!!!! LOL) Poser had a hissy fit and told me Poser exe had stopped working and closed. So need some general tuts about using Genesis I also notice that some of the facial options that were available to use in V4 weren't available how do I change expressions is there a morph for this and on and on LOL!! Any help appreciated

😊😊😊

You can use V4 morphs on Genesis I believe IF you have GenX from Dimension 3D. You can use V4 clothing on it if you set it up in DS4.5 first and then export it in Poser format (.duf - there are instructions on the Daz site tho I don't know the direct link). As of right now, the Poser importer does not do Autofit. Anything that was made specifically for Genesis you can use, so long as it has been updated by the vendor and they have made the Poser core files. Otherwise, again, you'll need to set  up and export them from DS to Poser format.

You do need to transfer active morphs to clothing so that it matches the morphs in your Genesis figure morph. Hair is still a problem I believe, but I've had no problems with a lot of hair props really. When you load they conform to Genesis and take on the scales, but you do need to parent from there on so they follow your figure's poses. Even the conformers (just don't conform them). The expression morphs I believe are in the Genesis Evolution morph packages.

The morphs in the base free packages are very limited (like past figures) but there as a bit you can do with them until you get your head around things and you think you then need more ;).

I am using poser pro 2012 and I downloaded the new import tool for Genesis into poser. the question is in order to be able to use V5, do I need daz studio installed? can I simply purchase V5 and use poser dson to import her without worrying about Genesis?

I know that Genesis is an integral part of studio, and I have noticed that Genesis is required for V5

I have daz studio newest version, but I do not want to install it since it wants to run constantly hogging resources. the last time I installed it I disabled it from running , but the good people at daz claims it is needed

You don't need to install studio. The install both essentials file to a directory, then the plugin and in Poser add that directory in so that poser can see it and you should be ready to go.

The version of V5 currently in store (1.1) comes with PCF (Poser Companion File) installer that puts CR2 version of V5 in your Poser runtime

thanks a lot. I do appreciate such a quick response.

I have been using poser since poser 4, but I was totally lost with studio. I did like the posing system how ever
