If you are doing this in PP2012, 'Zero Figure' is in the Figure menu (not to be confused with 'Zero Rotations' in the Joint Editor). Things changed at one point, and old tutorials may be pre the current incarnation of 'Zero Figure'.

Follow the advice in PhilC's above post, and report the results. There is a very high likelyhood that this will solve at least one of your problems. I can't stress too strongly how important it is that you follow PhilC's advice, it is an ESSENTIAL step in trouble shooting conforming clothing.
