Just getting to the point of finishing up my 2005 Mustang. Hope you like it.It has a simple interior and the steering wheel is connected to the front wheels as you would expect.

Same drive controls as the Panel Van.

Suggestions for other vehicles are welcome.

Have a 1951 Bentley Continental started and a bunch of other cars that were once in the store but are being redone with simple interiors similar to my 1951 Chevy Panel Van.

Just waiting on Ted to free up from his busy day work to get on to these. Have to say it is always worth the wait. :-)

Man that guys knows materials like no one else!

Regards, Tom

Very nice Tom!! Wish you or someone else would create an image using this and post it in the Galleries.

I also wish this car was waiting out front for me to drive home:)

Great job as always!

Hi kristi,

Did you look in the driveway today? it should have been there by now.....

monkeycloud ( ) posted Thu, 25 October 2012 at 4:26 PM

The Mustang is looking sweet...

Looking forward to the Bentley Continental, et al, to follow too, Tom.

But yes, it is worth the wait, for BB to do their mats 😉

If it were Screaming Yellow it would look like the one in my driveway..also you can lose the FORD on the hood, because the mustang is probably the only car where you have to hunt to find the manufacture name..(hint it's on the faux gas cap)

sweet can't wait to get it in my runtime

You might as well PAY attention, because you can't afford FREE speech

As always it is a hideable part as are most of the items you see in the image, including the scoop.

Glas you like it. :-)

Any chance on seeing a 1979 MG Midget if you're casting for ideas?

How about my first car? It was a '52 Desoto. Of course mine was missing all the chrome and there was a bullet hole in the driver's side rear quarter panel.

That Mustang looks amazing.

Maybe, as that was my Moms dream car. :-)

Will put it on the possible list.

Thanks rokket,

Sounds like you grew up in a rough hood. Not even sure what a 52 Desoto looks like but will google it. Would most likely add chrome to it or Ted would kill me. :-(

XXX what I need is orthographic views of the top, side, front, and back. They need to be of a car with the top on as I don't do convertables as of yet. trying to keep the poly count down as that is the whole motivation behind these cars.

Got tired of people who think it is okay to build cars that are pushing a million polygons and forgeting the fact that maybe someone might want something other than just a car in a scene. :-)

Tom

A blue print is preferable even if it is covered with dimensions. :-) Which is a good thing.

I'd go for a 1952 Desoto, having Googled what that looks like.... is this it below?

It was a defunked Chysler line of vehicles that was dropped around the early fifties. I like it, but have not been able to fine a blue print of it like mensioned above.

Lovwe the rear fenders on this car. More work but worth the effort.

Here is an image I found on the net.

Yeah, this black beauty looks like mine, the rear bumper is there on my old car, and the front bumper was held on with bailing wire, but the whole front grill and everything else was gone.

I liked it because when the old man brought it home for me, I was 5'9" tall and able to lay down in the back seat on my back. My head and feet didn't touch either door. I knew then what that car was designed for.... ;)

No, I grew up in the country, miles out of town. The original owner of the car used it to run shine in the old days. The revenuers shot at him once, but they never did catch him. When I got the car, there was a Ford 302 from a 74 Fairlane in there. The orginal engine was hot rodded and it blew up on the guy and ended his shine running days.

dlfurman,

don't really care for the corvette that much and seeing is I really need to be inspired to get through one of these I would have to say I will probably not model one of those. Sorry to disappoint. :-(

rokket,

Ahhhh the days of running shine........

Just like it was yesterday. :-)

Worked with a guy here in Michigan who used to run shine. Quite a character.

Here is another render of the Mustang. Just about done with it. This is my first rigging of a car and have to say, I am satisfied with it. Not as hard as I thought it was going to be.:-)

Sorry Phil really hate to cut you out of the work but I just could not help myself, being the curious guy that I am. Do have to give you credit for what you taught me about rigging. :-)

Beautiful render, and kudos for the rigging. It's nice to see the tires turned like that. Makes the model seem more life-like.

I never met the guy who ran shine with my car. But the guy who sold it to my dad knew him... he said the same thing about him. Quite a character.

monkeycloud ( ) posted Sat, 27 October 2012 at 3:47 AM

This was my family car, as a kid in the 1970s... an Austin Cambridge:

The one my dad had was exactly like the one pictured. A little rustier in places perhaps. He got a Vauxhall Viva after the Cambridge got past being serviceable... although I believe the scrap merchant who he sold the Cambridge on to proceeded to renovate it, rather than scrap it.

No bullet holes, thanks to the much lower numbers of guns, and therefore gun crime, or the need for the use of guns in crime fighting, here. As a kid I just had to make believe the more holed rust patches were bullet holes.

I guess, also, we've never had any prohibition on alcohol, to speak of...

If I ever get a bit better at modelling, I'll probably have a go at modelling this... and some other vintage British cars... as I don't expect you'll be up for this one, Tom?

DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!

We need some classic British cars!

I'm having a go at a Ford Cortina at the moment, but it's going slow, bit short on time at the moment...

But I'd love a Wolseley, or a Riley, or a Vanguard (which, strangely enough, looks a little like the DeSoto), a Sunbeam Rapier, a Morris Minor, a Hillman Hunter, an Austin A40, a Rover P5, a Humber Super Snipe, a Singer Gazelle...

(I'd better stop - I'm getting a bit carried away...)

Actually thinking about doing a Mad Max type of car, with weapons that come up out of the hood, doors and, trunk if any one is interested. Maybe iron bars all around it for ramming purposes. :-)

Just for fun, as I am not a violent person.

Here is a render of the Mustang in white, with blue accents.

Hi John,

It was in the store until I realized how bad the car finish was. That was when I got introduced to Ted. So I removed all my cars from the store until I could rebuild the cars with simple interiors and create new shaders for the cars.

So they are all coming back in the store as new products, one by one, starting with the Mustang.

modus0 ( ) posted Tue, 30 October 2012 at 11:18 PM

Looks nice.

Just one question/suggestion: Will the tires have a bit of bulge (as a morph) on the sides along the bottom like real tires have?

I only ask because I don't think I've ever seen a vehicle for Poser with that, which has the effect of making it look like the car has no weight to it.

Eh, I'll still pick this up, living in a place where the road to home would be murder on a Mustang (and impossible in the winter) means I have to make do with a digital one. ;P

Hi modus0,

That is a good idea, but would not be practicle as the wheels need to turn. Sorry.

Tom

modus0 ( ) posted Wed, 31 October 2012 at 2:06 PM

Could it be done as a UV-based displacement?

Set up so that the bottom of the tire has a bit of displacement to simulate the bulge, which should (AFAIK) keep it always on the bottom.

Hi modus0,

I am just about finished with this product and will not be making any more changes to it. Also there are two material zones on the tires and the geometry is split where the two come together so using a displacement is only going to spread them apart and make a hole.

Sorry. :-)

Here is the latest render hot off the press. :-)

Hope you like it.

Working top dome lights that spin. Red and Blue.

Yes I know I have a california plate on a Michigan Sheriff car. :-) Will fix

Also going to have an option to have the word Police on the sides instead of the Michigan sheriff Logo.

Michigan plate or California plate

Can put yopur own in the shader if you like.

45 color choices using bagginsbills new shaders due out soon.
