Pretty much. Load atmosphere, make a few changes with the Atmos Editor, set the render settings (right click on the camera for the short cut), though I usually render at 16:9 and 2133x1200 at 240dpi. Also for an IBL type, you'll want to use the Panoramic setting (think its the top one) and click the 360* value. 

I've found that the EXR makes for a great IBL as opposed to the HDR (as it translates onto the Studio spheres and looks right/unstretched as a background image), but I save both and a PNG in the event I need it for an icon somewhere.
