If you did a new install to a Poser 9 runtime, you will need to update.
Now, if you did that, you can install as many morph packs as you want for V4 and run the updater just once. It will find all the morph packs you have insatlled and update them.
It's a one off job per morph set. So, if you installed V4++Morphs, then you don't need to run the updater after you have run it for that set of morphs.
Now, a sneaky trick to save you some time.
Have different combinations ready to use.
Load up the Base V4, inject the ++Morphs, save back to your folder as:-
V4++Morphs
Do a new, and then load up your V4++Morphs cr2.
Up pops V4, ++morphs already injected.
If you want the Elite Morphs as well....
Load up the Base V4 (you always need to start from a base).
Inject ++ Morphs and then the Elite Morphs.
Save it back to your folder as:-
V4++Elite Morphs
This way you can save a lot of time loading and injecting morphs.
Same thing applies to M4 etc.
All the best.
