Subject: Morphs, magnets and clothes...

OK, you've probably heard this a dozen times over... I made a V4 character... Ursula, I call her.  Anyhow, I made her, using the Amazon morph and some SP4 morphs.  Now, if I want to dres her in clothes that do not have those morphs, how do I use the magnets to fit them to her?

(In this case, it's the new strict teacher set)

I think the clothing magnet poses that come with V4 are only to help conformed clothing match the V4 bending.

There are magnet sets sold at DAZ by Lyrra that apply shaping magnets to the clothes.

You could also use Dimension3d's Clothing Morph utility that can add V4 morphs to clothes.

If you have Poser 8 or later, Wardrobe Wizard can move the needed morphs into the clothing items. This and D3D's program are far more elegant solutions than messing with a dozen magnets imho.

Some free options:

...if you want to go this far...

  1. If you have free DS4.5, you can use the included Transfer Utility to bring that morph to Genesis.

  2. Use DS4.5 Auto-fit to fit the clothes to Ursula/Genesis

  3. Export the Clothes as an OBJ morph target

  4. Load morph target in Poser, and resave the clothes.

(works good for tighter fit clothes)

...another free method (IF the conforming clothes do not fall apart in the cloth room) is to us the cloth room to fit and drape the clothes...then save out as morph targets.  http://www.yanelis3d.net/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=44 For tight clothes start with smaller scale...there are forum posts about it.

There are so many options these days!!!!  :tongue1:

(I have used WW, Morphing Clothes and Lyrra's magnets.  All are good, all have pluses and minuses.  WW and MC seem to work best with already tight clothes.  Magnets work good with either tight or loose, but require more work for tight)

Er, 3doutlaw the morph is for V4.  The OP did not mention anything about Genesis conversion; I really think that the posted DAZ suggestion has no bearing on the original question.  It might serve to confuse.  Just my 2 cents.

The Op never mentioned Wardrobe Wizard or Morphing Clothes either!  How dare they bring those up!!!!  LOL!

Ugh...  Let's, forget I ever used the words starting with D** or G******.  That is really not the point.  The point was to give a "free" way to get a Ursula V4 Morph in clothes for Poser.  The rest is just a process.  Think of it as a "use a free utility" post.

Rewritten for your benefit:

You can load V4 in that free Poser-wannabe utility, apply Ursula, load the other no-good mesh, transfer the morph using the V4 clone (via the transfer utility), and save it as a morph for that other no-good mesh.   ...then auto-fit any V4 clothes to that Ursula V4 morphed other no-good mesh and save it out as an OBJ for a morph target for Poser and V4! :tongue1:
