It turned out to be an adjustment in the edges defining the blocks. I'm currently taking the 3D Master Modeling course and learned a technique whereby you use the knife tool and form an edge close and parallelto the original edge. It adds depth and makes it appear more organic. @RobynsVeil - I'll post the blend if you wish to see it. @FigureSculptor - thanks for the tip. I will save for future reference.
