They have what I think of as "that Genesis look."  Very rounded and smooth.  Sort of a '40s/'50s aethestic. 

But I kind of like it, for children.  A lot of what makes a toon are the childlike features: large eyes, smooth features, etc. 

I don't think DAZ has ever done children well.  Out of the box, none of them looked very good to me (though some character packs are great).  The Mil Baby was downright creepy.

At a glance, Justin and Julie might be their best ever, IMO.  I would buy them in a heartbeat if I used Genesis.
