Hi
I install all my graphics software on a separate drive from Windows and I put the runtime in the Poser Folder where it's easy to find things.
I haven't had any problems, I've done this in Windows XP, 7 and now in Windows 8.
I just find it more convenient to have every thing in one loacation.
Poser is not dependent on Windows to any great extent, unlike a lot of software I found that poser will run if it is copied to a computer running either version of Windows without even being installed.
I ran Poser in Windows 8 from the copy installed in Windows 7 with no problems.
So I'd say you can install it anyplace you want.
The advantage of not installing it on the C: drive is that if you have to reinstall Windows it will still be up and running with all you stuff intact.
