Subject: Props Library shows empty?

mouser ( ) posted Sun, 30 December 2012 at 6:30 PM · edited Sun, 01 December 2024 at 12:53 PM

This is a bit weird, Poser Pro 2010 I click the prop icon and there is nothing there.

I look in the directory and everything is still there, I can search for individual  prop stuff and it comes up.

But the main prop library insists it is empty.

As an experiment I re-installed M2 Clothing pack and it apears in the library but everything pior does not?

Anyone else run into this?

Convert the RSR files to PNG files using RSR Converter freeware app.

Uh, I converted to PNGs years ago.

You dont understand the issue, nothing is apearing in the Props library as in its totaly blank other than stuff installed recently.

I had the same issue yesterday. I tried to refresh the library a few times but that didn't work. Eventually I restarted Poser and that solved it.

Restarting Poser unfortunetly doesnt solve it.

Edit menu at the top of the screen.

General Preferences option at the bottom of the menu.

Interface tab.

Launch to factory state.

Ok button.

Exit out of Poser, relaunch and see if it solves the problem.

All the best.

I can't speak for the OP, but I've just now encountered the same problem with the whole library (the pane/window is just a white space), and nothing suggested here worked for me.  I also tried re-installing PP12.  Still nothing.  I'm suspicious it has something to do with Norton 360, since the problem started after my first re-boot since installing it, but setting my Firewall settings to "Allow"for PP12 didn't help either.  The setting is already "Allow" for Flash Player 11.  Does anyone have any more suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Adobe AIR? Or remove Norton... I've never heard anyone say anything good about it.

Iuvenis_Scriptor ( ) posted Mon, 31 December 2012 at 8:39 PM

Allowing AIR didn't do it either.  Also, I just got a new computer, and Norton never caused any Poser problems on my old none.

About all I could think of that hadn't been mentioned yet. I get occasional lags with the folders showing up in the library, but never a blank. As to Norton, have you changed OS with your new machine? May be something there... I had Firefly cut my internet connection today because after several years of using Poser, Windows firewall decided to ask for permissions for it... again.

Nope.  Same 64-bit Windows 7.  I've reported the incident to SM.

Any Windows Updates lately?  I've had many issues with Poser and other software after doing a critical Windows update which is why I'm hesitant to update it.

I was also told a few years ago that Poser works best when it isn't installed under Program Files and in it's own folder in the root directory.  A lot of my Poser headaches went away when I did that.

What about removing the runtimes then adding them back unless they're just not showing up.
