I hope I’m not abusing of your time and patience. If I do, please just ignore this message.
I have tried to use your method with POSERAY:

• Loading a OBJ or 3DS
• Reapplying the textures in the mat room
• Clicking on Recalculate normals and Split faces by crease angle
  Then export the OBJ
  But unfortunately no visible changes.

I’d be very grateful if you could explain me what I’m doing wrong, or even better, give me a step by step on what to do to achieve the same results you get.
