Here is the full blown readme from the full pack
Product Description
This package is a collection of motor vehicle materials designed for extremely realistic looking end results which can be easily applied and modified to models inside Poser.
There are eight catagories of materials to choose from ranging from paints and metals to glass and rubber, fabrics and plastic. There are also a few "bonus materials" included!
Product Features
90% of the materials included in this package require ray-tracing to be enabled in order for them to function correctly. Also, all metals and paints use Ray Traced reflections, and as such, require a 3D environment (or enviro sphere) for reflections to be visible.
The following is a list of all the different types of materials, and how to use them
CAR MATERIALSBODYCHAMELEON
The Chameleon shader is a replication of color changing paint, sometimes referred to as flip-flop paint. Depending on the angle of the surface to the camera, the color of that part of the surface will range between the two specified colors. There are 9 color variations of the Chameleon shader included, change the following nodes to make your own variation :
Simple_ColorColor : the color of surfaces that are at a high angle to the camera
Simple_Color_2Color : the color of surfaces that are facing the camera
Color_MathValue 2 : increase towards white to increase specular level
CAR MATERIALSBODYCLEARCOAT
ClearCoat is the standard paintjob most everyday cars came with before metallic finishes became mainstream. There are 17 color matched presets available that are accurate representations of the official paint color. Change the following node to make your own variation
PoserSurfaceDiffuse_Color : base paint color
CAR MATERIALSBODYMATTE
This is a simulation of a new type of paint recently seen at carshows on some concept and supercars. Unlike the "furry" matte paint, this is smooth with an even uniform color. The 6 available colors are those I have seen myself in this new paint, however to create your own color change the following node :
Simple_ColorColor : base paint color
CAR MATERIALSBODYMETALLIC CLEARCOAT
The standard metallic paint seen on cars today. By far the most common paint/coating combination used today, there are 28 color patched variations available, change the following node to create your own
PoserSurfaceDiffuse_Color : base paint color
CAR MATERIALSBODYSILVER
This shader simulates metallic particles in the paint mixture reflecting light back at varying angles and intensities, commonly known as a mettalic finish. There are 3 variations included.
CAR MATERIALSBODYSPARKLE
This is an accurate representation of a cheap car paint that came out in the 80's to try and be the poor man's mettalic finish. There are 13 variations included, change the following node to create your own :
PoserSurfaceDiffuse_Color : base paint color
CAR MATERIALSBODYSTUDIO GLAZING
Photography Studios often use a special wax on cars before doing shoots to really make them shine in the controlled lighting conditions, and this material simulates that wax. There are 11 color matched standard paint colors available, to create your own, change the following node :
PoserSurfaceDiffuse_Color : base paint color
CAR MATERIALSGLASS
There are two main shaders available, Black Coated Glass which is used for black glass edging found on most front/side windows. It is important to use this shader rather than a black metal or paint color to ensure the reflections are uniform accross the glass. Finally there is the glass shader and several tints.
CAR MATERIALSGLASS MOULDED
This shader attempts to simulate indicator/brake covers that have moulded interiors without having the geometry to support it.
CAR MATERIALSGRILLS
This semi transperant shader simulates plastic grilles on flat surfaces. Depending on the angle of the surface, and scale of the model this shader can be a bit of a hit-and-miss.
CAR MATERIALSINTERIORCARPET
Standard low-shag high wear carpet found standard in pretty much all vehicles today. 10 matched colors are availalble. Change the following node to make your own variation
PoserSurfaceDiffuse_Color : base color
CAR MATERIALSINTERIORFELT
Felt covering for seats and doors, 10 matched colors available. Change the following node to create your own :
Simple_ColorColor : base color
CAR MATERIALSINTERIORLEATHER
Leather seat cover shader. 10 matched colors available. Change the following node to create your own variation :
Simple_ColorColor : base color
CAR MATERIALSINTERIORMETAL FITTINGS
This shader is designed to simulate small shiny mettallic fittings inside vehicles (or outside on older model cars). Due to the nodes used, it is not recommended to apply this material to large surfaces as repetition may occur.
CAR MATERIALSINTERIORNYLON
Cheap nylon seat cover material. 10 matches colors available. Change the following node to create your own variation :
Simple_ColorColor : base color
CAR MATERIALSINTERIORPLASTIC
Treated high density plastic used for car interiors. 10 matched colors available. Change the following node to create your own :
PoserSurfaceDiffuse_Color : base color
CAR MATERIALSINTERIORSEATBELT
A complex material that simulates the weave pattern on seatbelts to give a realistic sheen. 10 matched colors available. Change the following to make your own :
Simple_ColorColor : base color
CAR MATERIALSMETALS
Several shaders are included that cover bare, anadozed and painted metals along with chrome and brushed steel.
CAR MATERIALSPLASTICS
High impact plastic used for bumpers and wheel guards. 4 variations are included, change the following nodes to create your own :
PoserSurfaceDiffuse_Color : base color
PoserSurfaceSpecular_Color : increase towards white to add shine
CAR MATERIALSRUBBER
Tyre rubber shader in 3 common compound levels as well as a whitewall shader for older model cars
There are 4 bonus materials included which are :
!Blank - just as the name suggests, this is a blank white materials with no nodes
!Completely Transparent - This material will make a surface completely invisible in poser. (rays passing through this surface will count as bouncing once)
Fake AO Catcher - A special ground material which creates a fake shadow underneath cars for photo integration
Fluro Tube - GI material used to enhance flurescent tube lighting in scenes. not to be used as a light source replacement. Accurately repesents a flurescent tube that is turned on.
NOTE
All of the materials in this package use local coordinated to create any patterns or effects, in other words all of these materials ignore UV mapping. This is especially handy when importing models from other applications, as the UV coordinates are not always tranlated over. With these materials this does not matter. Models with BAD UV mapping are also not a problem for these shaders in most situations
