The reason the new searchable library was made was because too many people dumped all their content into a single runtime creating a complete mess.
And SM thought they should rather cater to the people who couldn't be bothered to use multiple runtimes to better organize their stuff than use that money to, let's say, create a new set of professionally made figures instead just in case DAZ might do something weird with Vicky in the future.

But anyway, the deed is done and it's water under the bridge.
I used a 3rd party library during the Poser 8/ PP 2010 days, but now I use the Poser library, and yes, it works quite properly.
I don't use IE for anything, so it just hogs a few mb on my machine. Don't think it's a big security risk just sitting there and with Poser blocked by the firewall.
As I said, I'm not too happy about needing IE on my machine, but I'm not too paranoid about it, either.
