OT...Isn't the Flash plug-in an integral part of internet functionality?

The only reason I ask this is I use old hardware that will only operate with an 'outdated by Apple' OS (OSX PPC) and consequently will only allow a flash plug-in that is outmoded. Certain features of internet navigation are somewhat wonky for me on this machine. I suppose this would be more of a concern if I didn't consider my computer a perfectly functioning art making tool (my opinion) rather than a chat or visual entertainment or (yuck) Facebook machine.

BTW, the only use I've ever found for IE was the ability to register at Poser Club Japan.
