Seriously, ouch.  If Carrara would ever see a stable release, maybe Sparrowhawke would come out of hibernation and update his once-promising cloth deformer.  Otherwise there is just bullet.  Last I looked Carrara's implementation was good for flags and scarves but still not up to the challenge of covering a basic animated figure.  Maybe that has changed with one of the betas, but then it may have since broken again.

No, I'm not bitter on the subject of Carrara.
