Not clear that it's any better than mouse manipulation.  You have to move one part at a time, which is exactly what you can do with a mouse or joystick or whatever. 

I suppose if you had three or four people wiggling the mannequin at once, you could get realtime action of more than one part... but it would get crowded in there, and three or four people aren't easy to coordinate.
