One of the biggest problems with Star Wars movies was George Lucas and his writing/directing. There's a reason everyone makes fun of the "love story" in Attack of the Clones. Having Disney take over the franchise means other people have a chance to get in there.
Exactly what I was thinking. Most think that Lucas screwed up SW long ago, so do you really think Disney could do worse? I always felt that Lucas took the story too seriously. It was an adventure story, and he began to see it as modern-day Shakespeare. That's why the dialogue was so bad and the acting so wooden at times. Turning lighthearted adventure into moody drama.
