This is not true with with Studio 4.5. Just using auto-fit will retain all morphs built into the item. Though as usual anything tied to the original rigging of the figure is still lost, easypose for example.

 

Really? OK, well thanks. I didn't know that. I've been using the method I described above. I guess that's good news for us all.
