Subject: helicopter model

Hi, I am looking to buy (if I don't already have it) the internal cabin of a helicopter.  My character will be flying a blackhawk but I presume other controls might look similar, and what I am looking for is the most detailed interior cabin any of you have seen with flight controls and maybe camera angles, preferably with matching poses for V4 or M4.

I'm thinking the interior of the daz stinger may do the job.

If you want an ultra detailed cockpit - try this one. While not a helicopter the control panels where modeled from a REAL life Blackhawk. Plus this model features Sectional Division, so you can easily create scenes without things getting in the way.

well there are still many technical difficulties I face with my project.  And I may yet have to resort to a more spacious interior with movable controls rather than the above.

But I am slowly making some headway.

How about changing the camera focal and perspective, have you tried that? The attached image was rendered inside a very small space, but by changing the focal and perspective and move the camera around a bit, you can achieve shots in small spaces very well.

Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

so what about this?  Maybe I could put the door of the blackhawk in the pic somehow.

Is it too futurestic vilters?  At least the controls actually  move?

*hey thanks for that.* Actually thanks should go to the friendly female National Guard pilot who took the shots of a real blackhawk cockpit for me, as we weren't allowed to go near it. These photos where used as the basis for this model. I will check it out. Cool. *Maybe I could put the door of the blackhawk in the pic somehow.* Yep very easily. If you have the old VP blackhawk (now Rendo owned link above) the doors will be separate parts. So if you export out the model as .OBJ un-select everything, bar the door you want, you should be able to import the new single door back in as a single model. You might also have to put the texture map for that part in the same folder as the imported .OBJ. But it'll all take less than 5 minutes. aeilkema - nice idea there especially as the real things are so cramped. Like with a Chinnok you have to partly climb over the centre console to sit in the drivers seats! *Whaw' that plane has some of the best modeling have seen.* Thanks! Yea I did go a bit crazy on the detail on that 1:)

estherau ( ) posted Wed, 20 February 2013 at 6:39 PM

yes, that model is going to feature a lot in my next few panels of my comic.  And thanks for the door suggestion for my internal shots  that will be cool.

I've just come across another problem with the stinger though.  Although the controls can move, the textures on the screen are not going to change with movement.  that won't look too great.

What other aeroplane interiors are there that might look like a helicoptor inside?

Vilters just pointed out that in a helicoptor there will never be a middle throttle.

ooops - there goes that idea.

Then why not, errrrr, change the textures?

estherau ( ) posted Thu, 21 February 2013 at 7:33 AM

They are great looking textures. I can do it but mine wouldn't T look that good. But. Anyway now I am stuck because of the throttle that shouldn't Be there on. The stinger that is.
