Why the fascination with blue?

Microsoft,"Azure" (Azure cloud platform, also Azure #007FFF is blue)

NATOs' "Blue" Military Berets

Merriam Webster Dictionary, "blue blood,"
1: membership in a noble or socially prominent family
2: a member of a noble or socially prominent family

 

It's no surprise there is a desire to use "Blue" as many other notables are already doing it.
