EXACTLY!

I'm like hmm... I'd like some new music.  I go to Amazon, get what I want and am outta there.  It could be pink and purple with white fonts and I could care less.

An artsy site needs a bit more pastel and less white.  Look at DeviantART.  Greys, tans.  Even browns are neutral enough.  Easy to read.  Not stark.  Even the colored buttons are subdued to draw your eye just enough if you need a certain sorting option or whatnot.

IMHO, DAZ, Renderosity and RDNA (etc) shouldn't look like Office Max, Walmart or Amazon's sites.  And you don't hang out in Walmart period unless you are the walking dead... :P
