does absinthe knock one out like they say in old literature?

anyway, just tried rendering (~500X500) frilled lizard's freebie bottle of jack using thin glass shader.  it took 8 hrs., at same render settings that only require 10 - 15 min. to do  ~1400X800 render with multiple instances of thin glass shader on single surfaces.

hence with any luck, things may be better in next version.  also necessary to rethink thin glass shader IMVHO.
