Hi Paul, just want to undertand why the final version needs both the standalone and the plugin to work?

From a licensing point of view, the plugins and the renderer are treated as different products.  So they are purchased separately (or as a bundle).  This is actually a good way for it to be handled, since a substanital number of users are running multiple plugins.  The DazStudio plugin will be out soon and I see many users having both Poser and DS plugins.
