There's a much, much simpler way to make posable figures and you don't need to use the Setup Room at all.
I use Wings and this is how I do it:
Once the figure is completed, save each movable part out as an obj, keeping the size and position as they should be on the model.
Import each piece into Poser with all the import options unchecked.
Use the Hierarchy Editor to set the dependencies.
Save a pz3 before doing anything else.
Select the main part of the figure (Hip or whatever everything else is ultimately parented to) and, if necessary, scale to Poser's size. If you parented everything correctly, all the other parts will scale and stay in their correct places. If not, go back to 100% scale, make the necessary changes in the Hierarchy Editor and go again.
When you're happy with everything, hit the Create New Figure button.
Give the model a useful name.
New Poser
Go to the New Figures folder in Poser and find your new model.
Load it and save it again immediately. This forces Poser to create an obj file, which has been stored in RAM up til now.
Go to each body part in turn and, using the Parameters tab, turn off all bends (if you're making a robotic figure, as in your picture above, otherwise don't turn 'em off).
Open the Joint Editor, select the joint you want to work on and make any necessary adjustments.
Save the figure.
You can tidy things up using CR2Editor to hide/rename dials, set up ERC and so forth. Another good move is to relocate the obj to a folder in Geometries and change the reference in the CR2.
That's about the size of it. Easy, ain't it?
