Quote - PC sales have cratered since Win8 debuted, and it isn't because of the bad economy. God forbid I'm eventually forced to use a Mac, but if Microsoft doesn't learn from this debacle, I don't see much alternative. (Linux isn't an option, since I'm pretty sure there aren't -- and won't be -- Linus versions of Poser, Photoshop, or 3ds Max). As it is, I'll hold on to my Win7 machines until they pry them from my cold dead hands.
Windows 7 still has quite a few number of years of support left from Microsoft. Windows XP has one more year of support, I believe. No reason to get Windows 8 unless you have software/hardware that just won't run on Windows 7.
