It had nothing to do with "nerd hate". The use of the dollar sign signified that anything micro$oft made was 3 or 4 times more money than the equivalent by anyone else. And the fact that with any other software, you got support. From micro$oft, you get limited support, once or twice, then break out your CC because they're going to hit you every time you call. Oh, yeah. Try to find a number for the support. That's a secret now.
