I've had luck exporting as .obj and making sure I turn on all relative channels if using an image map for leaves, I also prefer bark as you can find specific types easily with google image search. When exporting trees I leave all the settings default for trunk and leaves. If you have a paint program I'd advise making a trans map for the leaf's alpha channel...black =transparent, white = opaque . Once exported go to the folder you saved to...I make one with the name of the tree to keep all textures together . Open the .obj with **PoseRay**....what's **PoseRay** you say...allow me:

It's a free opensource type app that writes the best .obj around and was for going between PovRay and Poser but I use it for preparing objects for Terragen2.See Link, dl and extract to a folder called PoseRay, open that and open poseRay.

open the model by going: Input>Load>3D Model and navigate to the folder as PoseRay opens to it's own home folder.

Go to Materials Tab and see if the textures are there, they show as thumbs of the tex.

If an image map leaf was used this is where you add the alpha/trans map you made  or had. That's it for the leaves, they seem to have correct mapping always.

Trunks always need U/V mapping so go to the U/V tab, go right to the bottom and in the Method field select Cubic and click Remap.

In the texrure dialogue rename the leaves and trunk from their material name they will have and then

Go to the Groups Tab

Click Tools> Materials->Groups, click Yes and then

in the Transform dialogue click  Drop to y = 0 and in the next column Origin then Transform and your tree should be set for Poser

If the mesh is really dense on the trunk you could click Weld vertices to be safe

get the pre beta...I found the BETA buggy but PoseRay 3.12.2 is stable.

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again
