Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 13 7:48 am)
The Shaderworks Library in under Window - Addons not under the sripts menu, well it least it is if it is installed right.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
The version of Library Manager from RDNA will have it's own listing in the scripts menu. It should show up as Shaderworks in the drop down menu, with Library Manager in the sub menu..
Yes it can also show up in the Window Addons sub menu, but if you copied the runtime folder from the Shaderworks Library Manager zip file and put it into where the Poser 9 runtime is it will be in both the Window and Scripts menus.

Their is no other options for Sharderworks in any of the other dropdwon menus.
I thought I might be moving it the the wrong file but the stallation notes so to suggest the above??
Mmm not sure then if following the instructions in the zip file and still not showing might have to contact Semidieu the creator see what could be up with it.. Could be something as simple as the runtime folder being copied into the runtime folder, I know that I have done stuff like that many times..
Other than that not sure what I can suggest as at a loss myself why it is not working for you..

In your shaderworks.doc you are looking for the Library Manager 2.6 under the scripts menu, this incorrect. To the left of the scripts menu is 'window' click on that in the same way as you did the scripts and at the bottom you will see a sub menu of 'addons'. In there you should find the Shaderworks Manager 2.6. If you look at the runtime for the manager this is how it is structured, so if you merge this with the existing main runtime manager will appear correctly in the addons folder.

Quote - But as you can see from the attachment - it's not there?
Then you do have a further problem - qoute from the shaderworks documentation
"Library Manager 2.6 is using a feature from the latest service release of Poser 9 and Poser Pro 2012: addons. This allows making a much more stable update system".
The structure of the supplied runtime is
RUNTIME
Python
addons
poserscripts
That is what should be in the runtime of you main Poser 9 Runtime, at least it is with mine and it works, the only difference is that I am running Poser 2014 and 2012 before that and it worked in both.
I think I would check the downloaded zip to make sure that is correct and then I would copy the 'addons' and 'poserscripts' to the python floder in my main runtime.

Create a new folder on yoru hard drive. Call it Install LM.
Copy your install zip into this folder.
When unzipping, use the Install here option.
You will now see a runtime in that folder.
Go insde of it and see how it has been set up.
Copy the files inside the various folders into the same folders of your Poser runtime.
This way you should get it working.
All the best.

Your welcome, glad you got it working.
It is great to have new features but it takes some getting used to, particularly when it make changes to a procedure that you have got used to. No doubt more and more venders will use the addons folder so we will have the new structure and two places to look for scripts for a while in the future.

Is your Poser 9 a new installation ? If so how did get Poser 9 to work with your old Runtimes.
Have you made any changes to your Runtimes and funally have you got your file search set to deep in the library tab under edit, general settings?
Normally this happens if the files required by Poser are not where it expect them to be. If it is a new product the files could be in the wrong place, if it is a saved scene, it suggests something has changed since the scene was built and saved. Setting the file search to deep can help but it does not change the file structure if the structure is wrong.

I bet it is a permissions proBlem. Befor I can install it into new version I have to change permissions on poser folder from read only to read write including Sub folders.
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
Shaderworks Manager 2.6 works in Poser 2014 as I am using it on a daily basis. I do not think there were any updates for 2014, at least I have none in the backup. There were some updates around the time but only becased some scripts were referenced to Poser 9. I was an easy fix and all the updaes were done in a day or so.
Anything purchased today showing Poser 9/2012 should work with no problems in Poser 10/2014.
