Okay, I've tried to explain this. Others have tried to explain this. You wanted a vendor's answer. I have been a vendor here off and on since Renderosity started their store. I am working on a V4 character/texture package as I type this.

In order for Rendo to have Paypal as part of their purchasing system, they had to inact certain rules regarding nude images. No store thumbnails may contain nudity. One full body nude promo image is allowed. The exceptions of course are texture sets for child characters where nudity is not allowed at all. It is up to the individual vendor as to what they compose for their demo images and if they want to include a full body nude or not. I am not aware of any change to this by the store admins. I do know that some vendors have chosen not to include a nude image in their demos. If you are interested in a character/texture set from a vendor who does not include a full body nude demo then site mail them and ask if you can see on to help you in your buying decision.

As far as I know, DAZ has not had nude demo images on their site in ages, if ever. They have tried very hard to make their site a "family friendly site", even to the point that there was A LOT of debate and input from buyers on whether or not M4 was even going to have a conforming genital figure or not. He almost went to market without one at all. I was one of those who said they would not buy M4 if he was not anatomically correct. So, they did release him with genitals. However the independant maker of Texture Converter decided (and rather strongly), not to include in their utility the ability to convert the genital map from M3 to M4. Not something I was happy about, or a lot of other people either, but that did not change that vendor's opinion that the only reason someone would want a male genital map is to make Porn.

Some people don't see anything at all wrong with nudity and other people see everything wrong with nudity and equate it with pornography. These online stores must walk a tightrope between these opinions, the laws in various states of the US, and stay in business and hopefully make a profit.
