Ooh, very close.  I think the scans washed out the dark areas of the original pictures a bit.  The darks should be really, really dark.  But this is also very close.  :woot:

Maybe my monitor gamma is just bizarre or something, and that's the source of all my problems.  Am I seeing things the same as everyone else?  Umm.  Otherwise, I have to say... what happened to WYSIWYG?  A scanner that scans not the original image, but something vaguely similar which it has decided to adjust all over the place?  Software, stop telling me what I want!  Give me flexible tools with options, and stop babysitting me.  I don't want your imposed preferences.  Feh.  And, umm.  Rant ends.  That is all.  :unsure:
