Tracking down a defective toy is all well and good, but the truth is that you don't know what any company is going to do with your information after they have it. I am sick of getting ads in the mail and e-mail following resistration of something. For example I buy an HP printer and register it (via a rebate) I then get ads in the mail left and right for all their other products: computers, digital cameras, scanners, the list goes on. Furthermore who are these companies going to share my data with? Who is going to process my name and address? Many companies employee convicts for this purpose. I'm not saying that Curious Labs will be guilty of this but simply that this is the kind of stuff that is happening if you register a product.
