Quote - Is  that really a bug?

It only asks for NO_MAP if the file has a "NO_MAP" with quotation marks in the script. As in

reflectionMap "NO_MAP"

but not in

reflectionMap NO_MAP

Most vendors seem to be aware of that these days. But it's always helpful to check every new content with CR Pro before moving it into the Poser runtime.

That sounds nice in theory. In practice, some versions of Poser actually ask you to find NO_MAP exactly when the file contains NO_MAP. Poser itself has, at various times, saved such materials WITH AND WITHOUT the quotes. And for each case, there are versions of Poser that will complain WITH AND WITHOUT the quotes.

Please recognize what we're saying - many different flavors of the same problem have appeared in many different version of Poser and many different SRs were released to fix it, only to find it changed to one of the other versions.

For example, in November last year, the only way to ensure it didn't happen was to not say NO_MAP at all, but rather "" (empty quoted string).

A very thorough and long discussion, showing many different conflicting opinions is here:

http://forum.runtimedna.com/showthread.php?68014-NO-MAP-error-upon-loading-content

The conflicts are largely due to various people speaking about different versions of Poser, and acting like they were all the same version.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
