There is no 'activation" or what's otherwise known as a set up fee so no it's not misleading. Most places that have clubs (not just 3d type sites but onlines stores in general) have a price for the membership as well as an activation or set up fee. So a lot of times it would be 99.00 for the membership price as well as a $29.95 set up/activation fee for example. I can give you some examples of clubs that have a Price to join the membership to get the perks as well as charging a one time activation/set up fee.

The price you pay for the annual membership is so you can get special rates for the prime products (3.50) which all the permanent prime products are uploaded brand new to the prime and not older already active products whereas a non prime member might pay 12.95 or 14.95 for that same item as an example. Prime members also get special coupons that are only valid for Prime Members, there are also prime classics that come into the prime for a period of 30 days so Prime members can get these for a limited time for the 3.50 prime product price . These are already active regular marketplace items that are normally priced (they could be 29.00 normally, 19.95 normally, etc), prime members also get the gallery plus for free, we've done special prime contests that only prime members can participate in with prizes, etc.  Prime products are from TOP VENDORS or special invited vendors so they are all great quality items.

 

I just wanted to clear up that it is not a misleading statement at all that there is no activation fee. There is NOT an activation/set up fee to join the prime, only the membership price. An activation fee is generally a one time fee most charge to process a new membership, it's not the same as the actual price to join the membership/club.  It's standard for most all club type programs.  As with our gallery plus subscription, file locker subscription there is a one time 5.00 activation/set up fee involved in that and then a monthly payment. Our Prime membership is an annual payment but there is no one time activation/setup fee associated with joining the Prime Club.
