Not prior to Genesis-- which is what many Poser users have been complaining about. The vast majority of content used to work just fine in both platforms, needing no more than (perhaps) a tweak of the surface material settings.

And if that's your point-- saying "the shoe is on the other foot" isn't going to help mend any splits.

I'm happy for everyone who sees Dawn as just the figure they need, whether they currently use DS or Poser or Blender or whatever. From my point of view, I was really hoping for an advance in cross-platform compatibility. I'm still hoping it's there, somehow, and I'm just not seeing it.
