Yes, you can mix bricks (nodes) in DS. You can also set up a layered material.  However it might be easier to simply use the Layered Image Editor in DS to add the eyebrow texture (as long as it has transparency included). That way one can also adjust the fit/positioning on the fly.

Can that transparency be set using an alpha map (black for full transparent, white for full opaque)? This way, we won't need different images for DS and Poser.

Yes, you can drive the alpha channel via a texture map. It is easiest if you use an image format with embedded alpha information, like .png or .tif

AFAIK, Poser won't read those (at least not taking their transparency into consideration), so I'd go for the non-easiest but with smaller final file size ;)
