Could be self shadowing.

Go into the material room and tick "Normals_Forward" for the mask materials and see if that helps.

A lot of (conforming) Poser clothes are double layered, but it's usually better to only double-layer a few rows of polygons along the seams and edges, and not the whole cloth.
