Photoshop vs Nodes: shouldn't we use them in conjunction? Photoshop to create and the nodes to enhance what a Photoshop file sends to a jpg or png? I'm just discovering the value of the different nodes (thanks to the same Webinar series that includes Xurge's modeling/texturing set), and they're wonderful enhancers. Nothing can really disguise a poorly made texture, but the nodes can work magic with run of the mill textures (like those made by yours truly).
*And I believe I'm just reiterating what Surreality said, but she's right. Even a photoshop displacement map, exported from Zbrush, can bloat a texture.
--And if a texture is top-notch, the nodes can make it unbelievably good. I love Xurge's texture video, but also like Sveva's tutorial series. She shows how to take one or two nodes and make a texture shine.
Back on topic: I wonder what the Dawn people are doing. Queen Mab's render revved up my interest.
I love me some Modo! :-)
