Strike that part. My mistake. It turned out I'd screwed up the geometry myself, somehow, while trying to make the base figure symmetrical. lol. It happens.
So far the mesh is built symmetrical far as I can tell.
My issue with the lashes is just with them being a separate figure, not their structure since that can be worked with.
It's also not a make-or-break issue (at least it shouldn't be for most people). A problem with the base figure's geometry would be.
