HI - just my 2 cents worth: From my experience it is not the final render size or resolution that causes the freeze in poser, it is the number of vertices in the scene and the combined memory requirement of all the texture maps in the scene that is more likely the culprit. For example trying to render 10 Michael figures with hi-res maps even at an output resolution of only 600x800 will choke most systems. But by making smaller versions of the maps and re-applying them, the scene renders. There are a lot of 2000x2000 texture maps out there and if you try to use several of them in one scene, even 512MB of RAM will not be enough. The way I work around this problem is whenever I buy or DL a new hi-res texture, I immediately make a downsized version of it (500x500 or 1000x1000). If I need the detail for close-up work, I use the original map, but if the figure is just a full length or background figure, I use the smaller maps, and thereby get more figures or items in my scene. Unless you are working with extreme close-ups, it is impossible to tell the difference in the maps.
