Subject: Differences between DAZ figures

So ive been away for a few years got the itch again since last Studio update

So whats the diff between V4 and V4.2

is V5 a morphed Gen2

What texture compatability is there?

Just got PoserPro2014 and I wanna play

V4.2 is simply a maintanance update for V4.0.

V5 is a morph for Genesis, which will not work in Poser without the DSON tool (for all practical purposes.)

There is no texture compatibility between V4 and V5.

Aug 9th there is a new girl in town from the originators of the Victoria series called Dawn. You might want to keep an eye out for her.

Well, correction...there is texture compatibility from V4 to V5...Genesis will take generation 4 figure textures. However, it doesn't work the other direction ;).

As for Dawn...yes, keep your eyes and ears open for her ;).

V4.2 is quite a bit different from V4.0, as it uses EXP to create morph channels, whilst V4.0 has a limited number as V3 does.  Redownloading from DAZ will get you the current version, and I believe all of your V4.0 content will vork with it....

Great then with Roxie the Vs and Gen and G2 and the GoZ plugin (I tried last night...so cool), I should be good for a few days.

I will def keep an eye out for Dawn, thanks.

I went to 2014 from P5, I got the giggles first time taking it for a test drive.

Highlights of what you missed since Poser 5 days

Smith Micro now owns Poser.

A lot of each version of Poser 6,7,8,9 characters are in Poser Pro 14.

There's plugs to make diffrent characters work with other characters cloths n all.

DAZ made Genesis tech that don't work with Poser so DAZ made DSON.
From what I've read on the fourms here .can't say Poser users are a fan of DSON.

All this caused a civil war.

I use Poser Pro 14 & DAZ Studio Pro 4 ,I've never tryed DSON.

DAZ divided now there's DAZ and HiveWire.
There's a thread in free stuff about HiveWires Dawn.

I think of it this way
V4 is for Poser
V5,V6 is for DAZ Studio.

Thanks im slowly catching up

ive been using DSON in 2014 for Gen2 kinda slow but shes amazing

A question though any thread on using the second set of mat groups for the sss maps?
