Because a shape duplicate is not a figure duplicate. Shapes are easibly changeable with morphs. Taking V4 and morphing her to look like Dawn would NEVER give you Dawn
True it will never give you Dawn. BUT this is why V4 is hardly not used in Daz anymore, because her clone is available on Genesis and Genesis2, giving her better bending and rigging. So to say a clone cannot replace a figure is not entirely true.
