If you change to the two-pane mode, the accidental drag and drop never happens.
I recall something about the peculiar drag and drop problem and trying to fix it. It has to do with the design choice of making the item that is selected bigger than the others. The result of touching an object is that it changes size, and because of that sometimes the list moves, and because of that sometimes you let go with the mouse over a different item than where you pressed. The result seems, to the software, exactly like a drag and drop. (You press on one, and let go on another - that's a drag and drop.) I understand that you didn't actually move the mouse, but nevertheless the mouse messages are that you started a gesture in one box, and ended it in another.
You can solve this by:
Configuring the Thumbnail Size and the Selected Thumbnail Size to be the same.
Enabling the separate Item List Panel.
Note: Meanwhile, workarounds aside, I'm not sure why we never fixed this. Could be because they were going to replace the Flash library altogether? I'm not sure what happened to that.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
